OVERVIEW
Pulau Abang (Abang Island) is one of islands located at southern of Batam municipality, Indonesia. The location is quite far from town, but that's the reason why this location kept natural. Beside of fishing, recently people of this island earns from tourism. While most of citizen still lack of nature care consciousness, they are in the front line to promote nature care. Please expect to see friendly people even the may don't speak English.

HOW TO GET THERE
Land transfer (70km, 75 to 90 minutes) + Sea transfer (7km, 20 to 45 minutes)
Batam government is trying to promote sea tourism in P. Abang but so far there is no integrated service offered, although road access is wonderfully in good shape. There is no public transport direct to nearby boat port. Many people therefore offering private transfer from Batam to nearby boat port including this blog writer :)

The land transfer cost is vary from Rp.600.000,- (SGD60) for 4 seater car to Rp. 1.500.000 (SGD150) for 52 seater bus (in September 2015) for two ways.
Sea transfer cost is usually included in tour package. Please see tour package cost.

WHAT WILL YOU SEE
Fields of corals and fishes. It sometimes has up to 30 meters visibility depends on sea current situation. Rare species of blue coral is easily found here. Bat fishes and clown fishs will be ready to dance with you all the time.
It is always advised to wear rash guard especially for those with sensitive skin. Sometimes less poisoned jelly fish will come around to join the party :)
You may want optional guide service for multiple destination in Batam at Rp. 500.000,- (SGD50) a day.
Don't want to stay? you may go back to Singapore immediately by ferry. Make sure you book it before it fully booked at weekend.

WANT TO STAY LONGER
Batam is the most preferable hangout place for Singaporean and Johor people. During weekend, it is common if you find fully booked hotel rooms.
